Jameson Lopp notes that generating truly random numbers is deceptively difficult and recalls crowdfunding the Mycelium Entropy device twelve years ago for that sole purpose, noting that only about five hundred were produced. Held as historical context showing that dedicated hardware randomness generation has long been neglected. The account is the poster's own and is not independently verified here.
