The Coldcard Q looks like it could be useful purely as a device for signing transactions, as it's air-gapped and has a keyboard for easier passphrase input 

So if you generate your seed elsewhere and import it, are there any realistic risks?

It doesn't have an Internet connection, so your seed would be safe (I assume). And if there are any bugs, it would mean your transactions don't get signed properly and can't broadcast them.

Is there anything I'm missing?

As I understand it, there are signing attacks that can occur from malice or incompetence, particularly if it is generating predictable nonces. I want more dust to settle before I even consider using my CC to sign again, and even then, the trust is so completely gone I may not even do that.

Good point, I didn't think of nonce reuse.

I'm guessing this would only apply if you received multiple payments to the same address, and therefore used the same private key for signing more than once?
