+I did this with new firmware on Q and seed generated via dice roll matched to online tool using same numbers. So I’m confident that firmware doesn’t have the bug at least for now

+Writing a passphrase in the MK4 is a pain in the ass.

+But I'm not sure i like that NFC chip, camera, and extra features that the Q has. Of course, thinking of a leakage from those peripherals might be for thin foil hatters.

+Imho Coldcard is still the best of the best. Yes, something gone wrong with the 4.0.1+ release, they royally fu**ed up, but if you use external entropy to generate the seed, the device is still a solid hw capable of signing transactions and do all the other stuff.

    What changed from the previous capture 8 lines 
     Honestly I'll probably give it a few weeks see if any further bugs are discovered and continue using it. The amount of scrutiny the codes gonna get now will prov aly make it the most secure.
 
 Also if you have a good, strong passphrase (50+ chars) that alone in my opinion is relatively decent without a 24 word seed

+I'm on the same team here.  Its one of the few who can create a dice roll seed directly airgapoed.  And its airgapped so signed tx should be fine

I'm clearly not going to use this device for crypto anymore, but I am tempted now to explore more functionality like the secure notes and passwords. This device also has NFC and a pretty good QR code reader.

  
Does anyone else think their may still be some life left in these Q devices? I'm hoping they go fully open source again, because development on this thing might be pretty cool in an open community.
