 I don't use steel for my backup seed but learning from coldcard experience I will use a steel plate I can change my seed  moving forward

So I got steel plates when I bought my cold cards. Around $50 a pop. Now over $100+ of worthless steel with "compromised" seed phrases punched into them due to me trusting cold card.This is the "Gold Standard".Don't trust, do it yourself or you'll lose money to companies like this. Lesson learned.

Yup. A stack of 24mm M8 washers fit nicely into a holder for collectable quarters. For anyone else reading, this technique is called "Safu Ninja". You will have very reasonable startup expenses for hammer, stamps, etc. But the per wallet cost of a handful of washers is **tiny**.

-They were always a waste, cause they do not solve anything. It protects from fire, but doesn't protect from theft. So you would still need to store same phrase in two different places, then the protection from fire becomes irrelevant.
