Federal government recently seized like 100k stolen BTC so I wouldn't rule it out. Also there was a major security incident at Bisq and they created a fund to repair those affected. Much smaller scale but let's not forget, there's a community here, many of whom were made rich by this technology.

post: 1vk6ylb author: No_Ad7990 created_utc: 1786324520 title: Any hope for stolen funds? body: I understand that the possibility that the stolen coins are recovered is near zero, if not outright zero. Maybe this is just an attempt to cope with everything that happened, since I have lost all my funds. But since the stolen coins have all been moved to a single address that I'm monitoring and hasn't been touched (it's an address with 40 BTC), maybe there is a possibility that they can be recovered if the thief is caught, right? Sorry for venting. Times are really tough here. comment: p2r4ll3 parent: t3_1vk6ylb author: Blackcherry777 created_utc: 1786325321 edited: false body: I’m so sorry for your loss it’s just heartbreaking! I know you prob want to smash your Coldcard against the wall right now but don’t just in case one day you get to prove you owned that seed. As far as getting your funds back I think you have a better chance getting some funds back from a lawsuit directly against Coldcard than getting the actual bitcoin back. I think the perpetrator can mix them if he(they) want and has started doing that. I also think when an agency or government seizes the coins they won’t be returned but just added to their own reserves due to “criminal activity.” Who knows what or by whom this attack is coming from right now. comment: p2r5z5u parent: t3_1vk6ylb author: Weary-Discipline591 created_utc: 1786325809 edited: false body: I’m going through the same thing and I know it’s almost a zero chance, but things are so hard right now with losing what I lost. edited: false body: It's not likely, that you will get anything back because of the way bitcoin works. The only small chance would be say the hackers were and lived in the U.S. and still made a lot of mistakes, then maybe they could be caught and compelled to give up the coins., but I highly doubt this is the scenario. Besides, this is not the work of only one person, there are likely many thieves who got coins. Eventually the coins will be washed likely. I am not saying there is no. hope, but it's highly unlikely. I honestly feel for the victims. + +comment: p3azjms +parent: t3_1vk6ylb +author: ArachnidSalty8496 +created_utc: 1786563787 +edited: false +body: +Same for me, also lost 20k and its all i had in money, I don’t know what to doExtracted text as captured
